mmm interior halogens sound nice, I'll talk to you Richie about that and those silver bulbs too.

As for the lights, they have been upgraded to 2000 / 2001 spec front and back (no orange bits!) and clear sides too, they are not angels but are they Xenons ? I dont know to be honest, how do you tell.

As for the leather, it is defo easier to keep cleaner than cloth, again the interior including door cards are from 2000/2001 car as far as I know or else it was the orignal seats recovered around then.

You must have been driving it through fields....I gave mine the first Meguiars treatment on Sunday (in fact it was the first time I have ever waxed the car since I bought it a year and a half ago) and it still looks good.  The weather has been good to us this week.  I was skeptical of this stuff with ye boys raving on about it, but now I'm convinced.

I did write it last March though and the weather wasn't as good then!

Looks great - Personally I do like the E39, reckon its an elegant car in whatever guise its in and as for the inviting interior, they are definitely one of the most comfortable / pleasant mile muchers that I have driven.

I can only imagine how comfortable the seven is - and before anyone says it you can't see the outside when you're in it.

I have to say Ben, the car looks great though.  I wouldn't have put the spoiler on you have but that's just my personal choice.  Angels & rear celis and clear side repeators will finish it off.  The leather is in top condition, but I think leather stands up well to kids.  My wifes Alfa has dark grey Momo leather and is 5yrs old and with a little Autoglym leather cleaner and cream every now and again it comes up like new. The kids jump up & down on them all the time and every now and again when I pull out the baby seats, there is a biology experiment in behind them   Where as my cloth seats are wrecked.

Car looks fab.  One quick suggestion; try some of Richies silver /amber bulbs on your indicators; I put them in my angels and they make a HUGE difference under the clear lenses.  He does them for the side repeaters, too.  Also, I can't make out what kind of headlights you have; are they standard or angel?  The angels made a far better looking car out of my 5.

Then you could always try Richies interior halogens; he has a set ordered for mine.  Judging by the pic of his car, they should look well shining down on the your black leather.

I can only guess that you dont have 3 kids scrambling around the back of that car. Did you ever have to treat the leather, I notice that you back seats have seems up the middle of the seat and you front ones do not. Mine unfortunately have the seems and at the edges the grey colour has worn off the seats. Can't think what I should do to fix same, any ideas?

My wife just came back in the car from a few days in Dublin and it now looks like I never waxed it, let alone washed it !!  However I'm NOT one of these 'dont let the wife drive it' types, she's a better driver than I am !! Mind you this is one of the few cars I've had that she likes, had a coupe of Cossies that she drove only once and never drove them again!

I'm not the biggest fan of the 5 or of wood interiors, but i think your car looks great as it is, the cabin looks very classy and inviting. The wood looks good against the black interior IMO

If you really have to change it, then carbon fibre is the only way to go......again IMO

Thanks guys for the nice comments, to answer some questions, I used Holts De-Tar spray, really good and not as expensive as the other more 'max-power-labelled' versions and wax was just a reqular non coloured metallic wax. So who is going to swap me a brushed aluminium interior then for my wood  !!
