It only works if you have Vodafone or O2.  If you have Orange or T-Mobile the system does not work according to BMW Customer Support.
I got it with my X5 and it won't initialise.  After two weeks of hassle between me, the dealer and BMW GB the truth was out.  The dealer did not know about this restriction, and it's not covered in any of the brochures.  That's �120 wasted then - or maybe a refund is on the way!!  you get it free for 6 months with certain combinations of options, but beware!
