I hope you all enjoyed it. Twas nice to meet up again and even meet all your better halves!
Yeah, the drive back ovcer the mountains was a bit of craic. Not too many times when an old 320i can speed off and leave an M5 for dust!
You didn't run out of juice then, I take it!

Im actually curious as to what happened the driver of that Seat Toledo, abandoned off the road at the top of the mountains! Sure would be a long walk back to civilization!

Killian,

Thanks to yourself and any assistants for organising the run yesterday, it was fun. We'll have to try to get something more regular sorted between us.

In answer to your questions....

Blew less than 1/4 of a tank for the whole day...... I'm well impressed.

With regard to you leaving me for dust, could that be something to do with you using a certain 316 as a condom, anyhow would your 320 not have an beetr power to weight ratio than my humble 520?

I'm up for more and we shouldn't wait until the track day............

The world is a tragedy to those who feel, but a comedy to those who think.

I was hoping to see you guys on your return to Murphy and Gunne's yesterday but I believe you got seriously delayed. I was down at M+G's at 4pm yesterday and met the guy who was representing them in the club.Very nice guy (didn't get his name). He was leaving to go home and after i said I was with the club he re-opened the garage and showed me around and kept it open til 17:30.A big thanks for that.

Hope to make the next drive whenever it's organised!

Richie

Sorry Richie - they way things turned out it was just unfortunate that we couldn't make it.

The next drive will be better organised (from the point of view of notifying everyone - I didn't receive the address labels for the mailshot until friday [4-5 weeks waiting] so that screwed us a bit).

Anyway I want to thank Stephen Murphy & Dan Steen from Murphy & Gunn who kindly offered to help us out on the day!

Would have liked to make it to Murphy & Gunns alright, maybe next time. I think my car was running on vapour by the time I got into the petrol station though - it used up a chunk of petrol when myself, Derek M5, and Killian got a bit of free road....

Probably would have been better - only an M3 has worse consumption than an E36 320i!! Although I reckon I'd be minus a bumper had we hit any real speed on those roads - my x-brace did a good job of protecting my sump on one or two occasions...

I had to empathise with Brendan on the whole hair thing - although at least you lot were able to gun it when you hit a stretch of decent road - I was afraid of overtaking in case my car came to a halt - which left me stuck near the head of about 20 cars doing 30 in a 60..

Did you get your splitter sorted?

Re: consumption..........If I'm being good on the motorway, I can get up to 32mpg[;)]! Acting the maggot it goes sub 18's very quickly

Didn't really get the chance to sort it - it hit the ground and the splitter pulled itself over the screw - so tightening the screw up again has done the job for the moment. The whole thing needs to come off though, because its happened before, and one or two of the screws are missing... may be more hassle than its worth on Irish roads though!!

The consumption went pathetic on mine yesterday because I was in second or third most of the time - although I managed to coast for miles on the way back when we were doing the funeral procession, sorry, I mean drive

Would you be talking about Killians Conom run?

I think the sheep popped out to ask who'd passed on and was offering condolences

Did you really go fast as 15mph? Hmm, I suppose there were a few straight stretches!
