I know the £2900 car, and it is in superb original condition, and more or less concours (has a few wins to its name a few years back). But are there any buyers out there that will pay that type of money for the e23?

Based on the findings of the "E23 Nutters" Section, probably not

Now you're gloating Rob

Have you ever had your fingers burnt in a car deal, or are you too canny to get caught?

yes philip, i bought a escort on ebay that i paid £1200 the car was in derbyshire and it was nice 1997 r reg. ran a bit lumpy when i got it, bought it from a nice young couple got it back, it was a auto, the next day the gearbox failed, the fusebox burnt out and two of the exhaust valves had burnt out. bugger. phoned the couple back and she said thats why we sold it. so i changed the gearboxfor a manual fixed the head, and the fusebox, and sold it on ebay for £1550. dident make a profit but got my money back. close call.

There is no skill involved in buying an e23 for less than £100 , its selling them that's the hard bit . If i can get nothing but promises from sad penniless vermin for my tidy £400 735 exec with  11 months ticket what hope has that deluded fruitcake got of getting nearly 3 bags for a turd (728 manual if any one is in any doubt )that is about as desirable as bum cancer !.
Profit is more reasonable than justice.

If there's no skill involved in buying an e23 for less than £100, you'd have to be a b****y genius to buy one for £400.
If you've got it, a lorry brought it.

As VJ's conked out looks like I will have time to take pics & put a car on fleabay today. either 528i or 732i -

sales proceeds will be enough to get a new fuel hose for VJ
