it runs lovely, seems all things work including all heating settings air con, obc, and suprise suprise the fan at all speeds. the only thing i replaced was the vicous fan that wasent working when getting hot so i had a brand new one i bought years ago and fitted it works great. ill give the car a good clean and polish tomorow and fit a cd system, bingo all this for £60.

Fantastic news Rob, bargain of the year. its a miracle that all those heater & fan controls are all working. Have you checked underneath the car for damage & rot?

This car would have gone to the banger racers if Rob hadn't saved it.

The E23 nutters salute you Sir!

that car's had a lot of maintenance & regular servicing to keep all systems in tip top condition. did you get any paperwork with it?

how will you resolve the quandry of which 732i to keep?

Tetley Dave is after one of them!

no, no paperwork but all mots, even when i started it dident smoke, so engine is in good nick. old plugs were good.but i changed them anyway.im really smitten with both cars as they are in sutch good condition, the green one ill now take my time to finish off so it will be middle of summer before thats on the road, im going to sell the passat so my daily driver will be the sunbury car.as i say its fantastic condition ill try to get some pics for you philip and email them to you so you can show the others as i dont have web hosting etc. i think i was just lucky that i got a second e23 in near imaculate condition.

There is a 1979 E23 728 which appears in the Classified sections of "Total BMW" and "BMW Car" magazines. It's listed as allegedly being probably the last surviving early E23 with 4-speed manual(!) gearbox. The owner wants....

wait for it......

£2900 for it!!!!

Rob has the sunbury car got 2 or 3 pedals? Has it got cruise and OBC?

Glad you got such a bargain. Looks like you bought 4 tyres with a car thrown in!

hi patrick, its auto, no cruise control but has obc and aircon that works. is your beast ready now, did you sort out the door seal yet. if not use the other seal as they are very easy to fit. you might need the door latches ajusting so its a tighter fit..
