nice to see some e28's. How about getting some into the club magazine? Surely someone here who has an e28 can put pen to paper, and get an article with pics into the mag?

I take it you're talking modded cars AG?

Who wants to read about standard spec motors?

You never know Philip, there are quite a few very nice clean examples around. I just wish I had a bit of money coming to me as I would take her off the road and have her completely resprayed either Avus blue or Techno violet!

Phil
I am talking about std cars mainly, or those modded tastefully (not chav'd though). But more of the earlier BMW's, and an e28 especially would be nice to see. the last time I remember seeing something about the e28 was an article that I had done on the 525e! And that was a few years back now.

AG

Is mine chaved then or tastefully modded then? I think techno violet respray may be a bit chav, but then it would be on its own! But then I would need a few numbers which I didn't get last night!

I wouldn't call it chav'd at all Paul, yours to me apes the M535i, similar styling, and just updated.

Thanks mate!

Just doesn't have the power of one! The thought has come across me from time to time to maybe drop a 732i lump and g/box in if I came across one or even the turbo version (if it would fit) but I would imagine very hard to come by and extremely expensive as well. But then I would imagine it would be pretty fast!! An idea for the future maybe!!

Trouble is, the M30 turbo engines are motronic, and your engine management system isn't, so the work would be considerable to do so. Perhaps a change of cam, ported head etc would be the way, and probably a little cheaper to!

I know it's a personal thing modding cars, but the ones I tend to stear clear of are the ones that would appear in the Perf BMW mag, just not my thing that's all. I can see the effort and time that is put into them, but it does nothing for me!

You won't get a turbo M30 into a RHD engine bay, cost the steering column will foul the turbo gubbins.

just stick an M5 lump into your 528i - its been done - it was in a BMW mag about a year ago.

Give me a few months to get to know mine properly, and all polished up properly then I'll write an article about how she was found and saved from the crusher plus lots and lots of shiny pics. Everyone seems to ignore the older cars in favour of the newer stuff, I personally prefer the shark nose designs - E21, E30, E23, E24, E28 - by far over the later smoothed versions. To my inner child(!) this is what BMW's really should look like. Wish they would make ones like them again, not daring new designs that pay no heed to the company heritage.

get it flowed, polished and ported, plus something like a Schrick cam (a mild one) and it would be a nice and useable.

You could always try a supercharger, now that would be amusing. Always thought about that with my e28 whenever I think of selling it but don't really want to give the car up - other half thinks I have too many cars.

Those m30 engines can take it scotty.
