@Ally...i am going to be sitting my HGV Soon, but its a case of who you know now a days in that kind of work

and unless its looooooooooooooooooong distance theres no money

I may aswell do continental coaching

What about National Express? Even jump driving where you would get on maybe at glasgow or summit, take it down so far, the take the next one back up.

Also i remember the guys who drove the artics up to the west coast for us when I was fishing, they were on good money, they got paid for the day wether they drove or not, then most of their runs would be through the night, so it was like double bubble most days

Why dont you contact BMW and see if they need a trolley service at lunchtime.  What with your previous baking skills and passion for BMW your onto a winner. Not sure about the 20k tho.

Seriously tho, I'm sure Reg Vardy are looking for sales people with no experience.  Obviously not BMW, but why not in time?

Or the Rigs, the time off has always appealed to me. Im sure you will have a good idea about how to get into that, living in Aberdeen.

Pete  - do the taxis.

When I was in Glasgow the other week, the guy in front of us jumped into a cab - he asked if anyone else wanted to share the cab up to Aberdeen.

We asked our cabbie how much the fare was .....  £250.

Apparently this happens quite a lot, Oil Rig workers needing to get to Aberdeen quickly to get offshore - if they miss their helicopter, they lose 3 weeks work.

Pete, what about getting into Computing? You've obviously got the skills to get started, and getting your first job in the industry is the hard part (I know). I've got a contact in the biggest IT recruitment agency in Scotland that might be able to help you out (in fact he's sometimes on this forum) - the only problem is £20k starting salary for someone with no computing work experience is quite high, but possibly worth investigating?

Pete,

What car hire company did you work for?

There's a new company opening in Livingston called Rio Prestige & Peformance dealing high end rentals (Lamborghini, Aston etc), it maybe worth contacting them.
