Had to navigate round that once or twice last year. First attempt I took a wrong exit. Next attemt I managed to get the exit I needed but then a mistake further away from it meant I ended up coming back to that roadabout when I needed to be on the same road but heading away from it. So I did a full circle around just one of the mini roundabouts which felt a bit weird but was perfectly right. Only problem was someone didn`t anticipate my move and some heavy braking (by them) had to happen.

Great fun. Could make a decent auto-x circult out of that :)

Yeah, been there, done that, etc. Beautiful Swindon, used to live in the area. I loved that roundabout(s) chose a different way each time. Who dreamt that one up?

Looks like they were designed by the same weirdos that make crop circles, they must have had a few laughs at the city council planning offices that day. You can imagine the mew design team coming in, 'Hey guys look what I've just drawn... you mean you like it??? But I was only taking the p***.'

I mean really though, what's to stop you just driving round it all day doing figures-of-eight, ogling the many beautiful women of Swindon and tooting your horn? (The one on the wheel.)

Sorry, someone slap me!

There's a roundabout near me which is just at the end of a road. No other roads off it, just back the way you came... - You'd be amazed at the number of black smudges around the perimiter though!

How can you say the words beautiful women and Swindon in the same sentence? Crop circles appear overnight  don't they? I think it might take a bit longer for said subject to materialise, after all, this is the 21st century, living on the moon, hover cars and ray guns?

I had to deal with the good old Magic Roundabout (yes, it's really called that) on my driving test. I was born in Swindon and lived there 'till I went to Uni. My parents still live there now.

The roundabout actually works pretty well, if you know how to use it properly. It can be pretty manic at rush hour, but I've only ever seen it jammed up when some fool has tried to go round it the wrong way or something. It's a shame the council has started putting in more traffic lights recently - roundabouts are more fun and keep everything moving.

As for the women, I shan't comment, for fear of causing offence.

It's a lot easier than it looks...if you know what you're doing you can scoot right across. Gets busy on matchdays though...that's STFC ground you can see in the background

Nah, this was caused by the planning commitee. They had a map with a standard junction on originally, however during the meeting they put their coffee cups down on it, before anyone realised it was whisked off to the contractors and there you have it!!

As a woman I have found that the best way to negotiate the magic roundabout is go out of rush hour, look all around you and then drive straight through the middle of it all!!  Not far away there is a similar one - four roundabouts under a bridge, that confuses me even more,c an't see them all so don't know where you are aiming!!!

...and would you expect anything different from a local authority?
