Any of you lot just traded in your E36 M3 Evo in Techno Violet? It's a local car with Priory stickers on it,think it was traded to Mill though. If so it has a happy new owner :D and for the rest of you as soon as I work out how to do it I'll post some pics.

What's your initial impressions Micky? I bought one a few weeks ago and it seemed pretty docile just using it for work. Managed to get Tuesday off work though, so went up to Edinburgh in it via Coldstream and back through Galashields. Hugely, hugely impressed. I'm dying for another day off! There's pics of it here - http://www.bmwclubne.co.uk/3seriesc.htm and http://www.bmwclubne.co.uk/3seriesd.htm Mick Edited by baur320 |

Initial impressions are God drives a Merc coz it's done nowt but rain since I picked it up
Only ran it to work and back, what an engine :D quite happy at 30 in 6th and will accelerate without the need to drop down a gear or 3 :D ,3rd is pretty epic when I do though MPG is acceptable too,23.2 and climbing, better than the 16-18 I had out the 540 auto. Hope the sun comes out this weekend so I can take it for a run. Where did you find your Estoril blue car,Baur? Looks brilliant. |

If you want to know how it came about, a bit of it's history etc, I can probably find out for you. I know Priory rather well....as I seem to spend too much there too often! |

Thank for the offer Coasting,is Priory at Silverlink? If so I'm only 20 mins away.
I'm assuming if I go in and see the service dept they'll tell me whats been done to the car?. It has a full dealer history and receipts but you don't know if somethings been convieniently left out.Do you want pm with car reg? Would it be recommended to get an extra service done as the cars only done 3k in 12 months? Last one was an Insp 2. |

PM me the registration and I'll get the details for you on Monday with any luck (save you a trip at least). If you'd prefer to go in then John on Service is very good and should be able to help (anyone will, but he's the foreman). With a full history you'll get everything from them, shouldn't be an issue. If the last service was an Inspection II then you've timed it well because that means you've got and Oil Service next which at a main dealer should be £150-175 and no more, and you get to keep the full history going too. Up to you whether you do it or not of course, but mileage based servicing would generally be fine and they don't do 6-12 month intervals anymore (not sure if they did on the E36 so best to check). |

Beautiful car Mick! Waiting for the right one certainly paid dividends! Micky you're right if you go into Priory at Silverlink and see the Service team they can give you some indication of work done, if it was completed at Priory. When I took my old 730i in, it turned out the guy in the service department used to be a salesman and actually sold the car to the original owner!! Obviously if they're busy they might not have time to give you much info so you might be better off letting Chris (Coasting) try for you as he knows the guys there?? Look forward to hearing more about the car and seeing the photos! Enjoy!!!

Yes, my frequency of changing has become a bit of a standing joke in there. I bought the Convertible whilst waiting for the Coupe to be serviced.....(the service was cheap but somehow it didn't work out that way in the end!!). Anyway, yes I know them well and I recommend their pastries highly.

Chris - My (12 year old) son doesn't like the colour - 'its too girlie, the interior's the wrong colour and the wheels are horrible'. That's me told then. Grahame - There's a few odds and ends to do, but the big attraction was the mileage - only 37k. I got Jon Morgan of Prestige German Cars to give it the once over, and there's a few daft odds and ends to do. I'm on a course shortly, so while I'm away it'll be going in to Jons to be fully sorted. Mikey - I found it advertised on one of those free Auto Trader type mags that you pick up at the supermarket - wasn't advertised anywhere else. Mick |

Micky_H I was going to drop you this in a PM, but thought I'd post this publically instead because I think anyone buying an M3 Evo would be delighted to get the sort of information you're about to get!!!! Basically, this car has been looked after like it has been wrapped in cotton wool ever since it was made. It has HUGE history and it is all Full BMW Main Dealer. Priory have said it is a case of no expense spared - it's vast. Their local Kerridge system doesn't even hold all the history because it'll only take the last 3 services due to an upgrade. The car was last in there on 30th March 2004 - for an Inspection I which found almost nothing requiring doing to the car. Prior to that it had it's Oil Service there and the BMW GB system shows years of servicing before it. It has been in at very short intervals for servicing (3, 9, blah blah 37, then 38 for fix of something, and right the way up to the 30/03/04 when it was recorded as having 57k on it). It has never missed anything and is noted as being in at much shorter intervals than required due to "Owners preferred servicing". They can't print the BMW GB history out because there is so much. His last comment was that it originated from Eastern BMW in Edinburgh as a new car and was serviced by the dealer until a sale brought it down this way. Top buy by the sounds of it. He said "It's a proper car, no doubt". Great to be able to pass on such good news Edited by Coasting |

Cheers for getting me that info Coasting.Nice to know the cars been looked after.Theres loads of receipts and M.O.Ts in the pack, even has the ad sheet that Priory did when they were selling the car.
Brakes and tyres were done only a few thousand miles ago too.All I have to get done is have the wheels refurbed sometime in the summer. Really suprised that the last owner decided to trade the car in,wonder if he's running round in an E46 M3 now. |
