There you go, now I don't think Scotts is offensive, or the terms jock, paddy, taff etc, but being younger you're probably more PC.

I don't know of a similar term for Englishman, unless its just the sassanac one, if I've spelt that anywhere near correctly.

Best Wishes

Nigel

I've never worked out the "eyeties" one for Italians, even my Italian counterparts dont know what its about, the best guess I've come across is its something to do with British soldiers during ww2.

@mell i see your point that you feel you aint getting anything out of club (well aprt from all the help that is there on and off forum when you need it and certain discounts and 6 mags a year)

But its not everyones cup of tea,but then again its only £35

@Stephen-"seems to me that the people who do the organising get their due recognition, but some brilliant ideas get tossed by the wayside because the chief organiser isn't interested or won't get their five minutes of fame because it was someone elses suggestion"

Is that aimded at me?

Why is my name always in mag LOL! (Iknow you were only joking)

When i came into this club there was nothing for the North Of Scotland hense i saw an oppportunity to get involved in my own time

to what i have done for 1 year now,and got voted in by the members at AGM (Those that were there including you) to be the North Of Scotland Co-Ordinator and it was also said that we needed a events co-ordinator and Shorty was voted in..(Not to mention Webdunk at the end of last year)

If anyone has any suggestions for things to do up here (god knows how many times i have asked) then lets here them

So far we have had

Karts-Fell at first hurdle as no one wanted to pay deposits

curry night-loads of interested people, mell was aksed to sort out a date but never

Cruise-a few of us went to this

and offcourse our monthly meets, which in my opinion are a great success (or at least a start)

One last thing

If anyone wants to do something for club off there own backs like go into there dealer and get to know the dealer principal in your own time and orginize discounts/events or just get a relationship going then you dont have to ask.Just do it

Same goes for anything else in the same sort of line

there have been a few good suggestions of late, quad bikes, paintball, pool night etc.  i can only suggest places that i know of (which are invariably near here), but the problem is getting folk to travel, for example theres a place that does quad bikes in Nairn, which isn't very far from Elgin, theres other local (to me) places which cover activities including paintball, a skid-car, "road rallys" etc.

lots of varied things round elgin/inverness way but admittedly it is an effort for aberdonians to attend because of the increased distance, and most of these activities require booking in advance

pool and curry nights are no problem, "have overnight-bag and wallet, will travel" kind of thing lol

Pete, i didnt really join the club to get discounts, cause i use the website for advice etc i thought it was only fair to pay a membership to help with the costs, but if all you get is arguments and petty people then i wont be using the website therfore i wont be re newing my membership, you say its only £35 quid, thats alot of money for nothing,if you lost it you wouldnt say "ah its only £35"!!

Me and stev are talking about arranging in a curry night, these things do take time as i do have a life other than bmw club! didnt think you were intrested as you said you didnt like indian food?

Nigel Guff is a name for english people,i get called it up here lol

Trying not to sound like a boring old fart here, but....

Life is too damn short to worry about whether or not what you say on the world wide web offends, upsets etc.  The world is a huge place and no matter how hard you may try, you will always offend or upset at least one person in it, this is inevitable.  Opinions about cars, curries, nicknames etc are all part of life's rich mix and without the occasional screaming tantrum this would indeed be a very sad and boring world to live in.  Its all down to tolerance and a little bit of compromise thrown in here and there, so come on boys, girls and others...Have fun, enjoy life and don't give a fig about anything cos you ain't here forever you know.
