Alloy Wheels - A Warning!!

   This is a warning to anyone thinking of buying new alloys for their pride and joy. I bought a set from BKracing, Exeter, and have had nothing but trouble with them. In fact I would go so far as to say they are extremely dangerous! All four wheels suffer from intermittent, sudden deflation with the tyre almost leaving the rim. All the wheels have been tested and none have been punctured. This sudden and complete deflation has caused severe damage to every wheel. I now have a stack of alloys in my garage which cost me �550 and which are absolutely useless. I spoke to BKracing by telephone but they didn't want to know and they  do not reply to any of my emails.

BKracing - not worth the risk! There are other companies!!

	These weren't 17" Alpina Replicas were they by any chance? (BK171) - Did you get them with the natty Federal tyres in a package deal? Was thinking about getting some of these, but I don't know of anyone else who does replicas. Anyone?

	guys you have rights,,,, contact traiding standards and explain your problem and ask for advice . you should get your money back . all of it.

	Get them independently assessed and then go back to BK Racing under warranty/trading standards/law! This is a potentially lethal fault after all. I had replica M5 alloys, one of which turned out to be porous. The company in question replaced it without question under warranty.

	hi lads. im new to this forum thing. but i got a set of BK238 (seven spoke) alloys in 18" last year. i havent had any problems with the alloys then selfs, but have had major problems with the Nankang tyres that were fitted to it. after getting a puncture on the motorway and driving on the falt i had to buy a new tyre. i opted to keep with the nankangs to keep the same tyre all round. once the tyre was fitted i had a large vibration from the rear. (where the new tyre was fitted). it turned out to be a 3mm run out in the tread. so in fact the tyre was an egg shape. i got a new tyre from nankang but the problem was still there, even though slightly less. it does go to show that cheap isnt always the best option!

	Sorry to hear about that, I would consult the Citizens Advice Bureau, it could be the tyres are pants, but they were supplied with the wheels, so they should cover them. "Skull" Is right, you do have rights, are you a member of the AA or RAC? They could offer some advice. Just out of interest, what is the speed rating of these tyres??

	Got a set of BK171 17" Alpina Reps on E30 and have never solved a steering wheel vibration problem. Someone mentioned something about the plastic hub spacers causing this problem. I've had them balanced numerous times to no avail. The vibration comes in heavy at around 50mph plus. Any advice on fixing this guys.

BK's answer...........wrap electrical tape around the hub!!! pish!! Customer care is crap from them and I'll never have another set from them! hear you can get metal spacers but dont know where from......any ideas? ---------------------------- J ust B loody L oud!
