Really want to change my "old fogey" alloys (Type 41's) and torn between either Alpina 20 spoke cotton reels or M3 rims.

Really like the Alpina's as they look classy but more expensive than the M3 alloys. I've probably decided which ones I want but just wanted some other opinions!

My final decision is probably influenced by the overwhelming need to own an E36 B3 - then I get the alloys and a few more Alpina bits as well lol!

Personally, I'd stick to a 328 design.  Putting on alloys from another model, purely in my opinion, never fails to cheapen the overall look of the car.

The Alpina's will possibly suit more though.

I passed a 320 Coupe (E46) only this morning - it had 18" E46 M3 alloys on and it just smacked of tackiness.  They just looked so wrong.

That said, it really is a case of personal taste and if you like your car with other wheels on then if it makes you happy why not!

Thats just not gonna be an option surely unless the cars a 328 sport. You could go berserk and say that sticking BBS cross-spokes on would cheapen the 328 sport if the cars not got the Mtech kit on.

IMHO M3 alloys suit the car but its a much tried and tested route. The Alpinas are the best bet.

Got mine off a BMW bodywork techie who sourced them for me.

Thanks for all your coments guys - appreciated.

I'm in general agreement with Coasting - I certainly would not be looking to cheapen the car with huge blinged alloys. I'm looking to keep the car as standard as possible and the thought of changing the alloys would be a rare mod for me!

Reckon they will have to wait as they are not a must. However, my want for a leather interior is greater and in my opinion would be a desirable addition.

My next post then - Boston Green 328 Coupe with Black, Tan or Beige Leather?
