Hi . I have radial styling type 32 rims. 17 x 8.5 j on the front and 17 x 9 j on the rear. My cars lowered 40 mm so not sure what the difference would be between 15s and 17s.

Not sure. they are originally of a 7 series i think. Set of spigot rings and they fit a treet no problems.

Hi , I have 17" throwing stars on my 540i (they were standard fitment on the M5) and they fit a treat.

Any wheel from the E31, E32, E34, E38 range will fit straight on your car, E39 wheels will need a spigot ring on the hub because E39 hubs had a spigot size of 74mm and the others were 72.5mm.

Be careful with 3 series wheels, the offset is completely different.

See the table below:-

Hope this helps,

Mine must be E39 wheels then because i needed spigot rings. You learn something every day.

Thanks Horsetan, took me a year of searching but I think it was worth the wait.

M5 throwing stars on 235/45/17 Goodyear Eagle F1's, db_abz is one happy bunny! (a grand poorer though)

Don't think it will be the width. I run 235/45/17 on the front and 255/40/17 rear. It drives straight. Have you had the tracking done. This might cure the pulling to one side. And yes apparently the ride does suffer a bit going from 15s to 17s because the tyre wall is smaller.

The ride is fine with 19's on my car obviously a bit firmer than the standard 15" wheels but not uncomfortable.

My 17's are fine too, as Miles say's the ride is of course a tad firmer than the standard 15's especially with the Mtec suspension.

How MUCH????

I've been looking at Falken 235/45/17 tyres - they're only about £80 each.....

Carpetbagger,

My 17's are 7 1/2J and have ET20 offset and ride better than my 16's which had 225/50/16 tyres - and they're on an E28!
