Just got back from a three week course - it is quiet on here isn't it?

The trip to the Lakes on 15/05/05 is still on. I was trying to include a stop at the garage at Newsham (just west of Scotch Corner) that does track day preps. Anyone know their phone number?

We're going to the Windermere area - don't know it much - anyone any suggestions?

Also thinking about inviting the BMW CC NW.

Cheers

Mick

Damn it!   Because next Sunday is a definate no for me as I am heading off to Leeds for a 3 day business trip late Sunday evening so I'll be spending the day with the family at home.

For what it's worth - I'd keep away from Windermere purely because of the traffic you'll encounter in the Bowness area.

Buttermere is a good drive though, as is the route to Ullswater and Coniston.

If your going up to the lakes can i suggest either Ennerdale water (great drive/scenery) though not much to do when you get there or buttermere as mentioned, keswick and penrith are both close to here so there is things to do, if you go near the A595 coast road there are plenty of places to eat, the royal oak in Beckermet, the Bridge inn at Santon bridge, The Globe at Gosforth. Further down the A595 there is Muncaster Castle(owl/birds of prey sanctuary, Gardens and a kids maze, oh and the castle!) and it is close to Ravenglass estuary.

Hope this helps.
