    Posted: 09-May-2005 at 13:08

Folks

At the meeting in the Spa we organized a date for this event of Saturday May 21st.  In the club mag it was listed as Sunday May 22nd.  After a bit of discussion with Ger O'Connor, the event organizer, we agreed to go with the Sunday date.

The plan of campaign so far is:

The run will be in 2 sections of roughly 40 miles each, leaving Limerick with a lunch break in Foynes - and a visit to the Flying Boat Museum for those interested (well worth a look), and the return leg ending at Pat Keogh's again.

The course will be a mixture of road types and there will be a series of treasure hunt type clues along the way for those with less interest in the Economy Run part of the outing.

Sunday 22nd May 11:00 - Meet at Pat Keogh Ltd forecourt (Main BMW Dealer Ballysimon Rd Limerick - the road to Tipperary Town).

Sunday 22nd May 11:30-11:40 - first car leaves Keogh's

Sunday 22nd May 13:00 - First car arrives Foynes

Sunday 22nd May 15:00 - First car leaves Foynes

Sunday 22nd May 16:20 - First car arrives Keoghs

Sunday 22nd May 17:00 - Finish up.

Prizes will be awarded for:

Econ Run 1st Handicap
Econ Run 1st Overall
Treasure Hunt 1st
Closest to 30mph/50km/h

This proved to be a good days entertainment last year and its an excellent opportunity for members out of the Dublin area to take part in an event closer to home.

Please let us know your interest and we will follow up with more details in advance of the event.

Right - well so much for my enthusiasm, checked the diary and I am at a stag in on Saturday night so I imagine that unless someone is going to pick me out of the gutter on Leeson st at around 7:30am I won't be in any state to go anywhere on the Sunday.

I had to read this a few times to work out if you were telling us two related things or if you were telling us two unrelated things in 1 sentence.

If the second is true, does your fear of committment cause difficulties with your wife?

BTW, early happy birthday greetings!

I wasn't trying to be abstract or anything but I reckon my missus has something in store for me

WRT to causing difficulties with herself - this come naturally to me seemingly

I'd love to go, but I'm heading to Glasgow that morning.  Might see you on the road, though; I'm flying out of Shannon.  Enjoy.

Typical, an event right on my doorstep and its the same weekend as the Z Register's cruise in the Lake District (which i'm already booked up for).

See you another time.
