Checked the brakes last night and the calipers are covered in rust, my fiesta ones are still ok, expected more of bmw.  The discs look scored and rusty too.  So i expect the brake pipes and hoses aren't in the best either.  Thought the calipers would've been rust proofed or is this normal.

How much to replace the lot, i've seen discs on ebay for 59 stg.

mark.

You could get discs reasonably priced from German & Swedish (10% off to club members!). Ebay whilst handy can be a rip off with postage!

I've noticed that previously where I have been charged X Euro for postage but when I receive the package the postage on it is less than what I paid!

Either they under estimate before visiting the post office - or they are onto a scam!!

However the item still worked out a lot cheaper than if I had bought it here so can't complain too much!

Graham - time is money - although the postage may be £3 for example, there are other things such as the padded envelope and the labour to factor in.*

* not justifying all high p&p charges though!

I take your point Killian that sometimes it's not just postage that is included in the price but packaging also - fair point!

Hats off to people with initiative to do such a thing anyway such as Mikerd4's friend's friend (hmm suspect - keep an eye out for Mike on ebay!!!!   )

Sorry Mark for getting off topic.  Can anyone offer more advice to Mark re his brakes?

You can't compare bike and car parts. Honda & other bike manufacturer parts in Ireland are soooooo expensive. Jebus, even your tyres are a rip off and they don't last that long!

Tell me about it, pair of tyres for the bike cost over 400euros and they last about 5-6k miles, but thats what happens when you put 130bhp throught 2 inches of rubber  .

Mark.
