Topic: TRX tyres Posted: 17-May-2005 at 08:27 |
Is there a demand for these still amongst 6 series owners?
Let's say for arguements sake if the tyres were like new?
You see differing prices for these tyres on eBay, some selling most though tend to get no bids at all?

Those who want to keep their cars original (or who don't want to bother shelling out for imperial-sized alloys and tyres) will still be in the market for metrics.
I'm still using metrics and am slowly running down my stock of them before I switch to imperials.
The tyres that WILL sell on e-Bay will be the Michelin TRX ones, mainly because they were the best of a bad bunch. Avons generally don't fetch much, if at all.

I have a spare one with about 5mm of tread on it. Michelin I believe but I can check.
Due to go to the skip during pending house move so it's free to anyone who pays the postage (about 10-15£ I think). Just PM me.
Wheels went to the scrap man last week.
Otherwise bin them and get some imperials on.

TRX's, hmm, ****e performance wet or dry.
If you value your car & your life, ditch them before they put in a ditch.
Get imperials, best improvement you can make to your 6 IMHO!

The S38 and gearbox would fit in theory, but you might have a problem fitting in the rest of the driveline....

e23 in standard form is a great car but slow in pickup. might modify the head and exhaust slightly.

Fritz's Bits can help you with a free-flow exhaust system.
Modifying the head..... the words "Schrick" and "camshaft" spring to mind....

Rob your first idea of 24v in e23 (south african 745i style) is a good one and i just happen to have a complete m5 e28 running gear available ! . More power crazed deviants needed !.
