Metrics? Throw 'em in the bin - add another grand for
decent wheels & tyres to make it go round corners.
Exhaust? Nice. Radiator? Why? Has it been
overheating???
Loads of new bits? Such as what, when & why?
Sure to need something spending on it.
If it's so good (& so cheap) why don't you buy it.

I could have travelled round the country looking at
every dog-end
described as "mint" & "stunning" but after doing it
looking for a
W107 SL I couldn't be bothered to go through it all
again. Much easier
to pay the money & get a "proper" one straight off.

You should try it sometime.

Oh dear, someone hates losing. Diddums.

1.) All 6 Series wings rust - maybe you didn't know?

2.) I don't care how many miles your car has done.

3.) 800 for new Metrics - wealthy owner.

4.) New rad - because radiators don't last forever.

5.)New bits?

Front calipers, discs, auto trans pipes, screen.

I think it's called 'maintenance'.

But I'm sure yours will last forever without it.

6.) I already have a nice old 6 Series thanks.

Merc W107? I have a 1977 R plate 450SL.

Thistle green, 1 owner, 24'000 miles, hardtop.

Paid 11'000 3 years ago. All I did was:

Steam clean and Waxoyl, new hood seals, service.

Your turn matey.
It be black, hairy and I be afraid of it!

You certainly do.

You seem confused about the difference between fact & your opinion.

It is your opinion that a Six over 7k is over priced. It is a fact that they are selling for that & more. If people weren't happy to pay it they wouldn't.

But of course, everybody that pays that kind of money is wrong & you're right.

You know best.

Does this Guy work for Munching Legends?

...............................Maybe their PR dept!!

I hate those who 'big up' the value of their cars.
Especially when they clearly paid way too much!!!

Do I know best? That depends, but I think so.

I bought a lovely '83 635CSi manual for 1800.

I've found a superb Highline for 4995 at a dealer.
(Offer him seven grand, tell them ML sent you!)
It be black, hairy and I be afraid of it!

No I don't work for ML but maybe you should. Your skill at finding diamond cars for peanuts would be a great asset to them.

If anyones "bigging up" their car it's you. I don't believe I said how much mine cost & as you've never seen it, I'm not sure how you know that I "clearly paid way too much" for it.

But I think I know.  You're the bloke in the pub, the tedious guy at the end of the bar who's an expert on everything.

Been on holiday?  You went there last year for half the cost.

New tv? You got the next size up for half the price.

As the saying goes, "you know the price of everything and the value of nothing". Or in the vernacular, you're full of it.

You should take your lovely six & the superb Highline to ML for a check. I'd be interested to see the hit-list on them.

Maybe you have got a bargain although if you think Sienna Brown is "lush" then maybe not.

BTW;

1989 Mercedes 300SL W107.

1 Lady owner, 88'000 with history.

White, blue leather, hardtop, original Blaupunkt.

Immaculate original condition, 10'900.

Probably not expensive enough though.

It's at Thornfalcon Car Sales near Taunton.

Looked at it today to supplement the 450SL.

Don't these normally make 14'000+++? biggrin:]

I know!

And the cars, a "thistle green" SL & a "lovely white" 635 with blue velour interior!!! What a poodle parlour! Yap! Yap!  He was looking at another white SL with a blue interior.

I nearly died laughing when he described his six as "lovely" - right under Horsetans signature of "My Lovely Horse". Do you think he's a hairdresser??

Graham Norton eat your heart out.

Sadly not - fastest rising house prices in the country.

Well it would be compared to Brighton - my cockney mate says it's the gay capital of England!
