Very nice, wouldn't mind it myself if I had the room/spare cash.

Would be good as a show car.

that looks really straight & clean. what is the exact paint colour? can't quite place it. lets see if it picks up any serious bids.

I knew my appreciation of E23s was growing but I never thought I'd actually want one.

I'd be quite serious about this if it was genuine and in as good condition as it appears.  I expected it to be Alpina Green (like my B3.5) but it looks too dark for that.

Does anyone know anything about this car?

I do indeed know this car, it was offered a while back, but didn't make the reserve! (2500 btw)
The car is an original B10, one of the limited runs of manual cars (22 in total) and was originally finished in black, but the owner before this one painted it in green. Not a BMW colour, but a brighter green, and he did it properly including door shuts etc. Then put the striopes on. However it is original in all other respects. I wouldn't mind it, but have neither the room or the time (let alone the money). Runs well though, it'll be a top car to own. Maybe I will chance it!

AG - compare the cost of this car with the cost of renovating your B10. it might make more sense to buy this one (after a VERY thorough check over of course) and then sell your B10 maybe? just a thought

Meanwhile, up in Hertfordshire, the unmistakeable sound of a mouse-click signifies that a bid has been made on e-Bay....

I have one tis true, but a manual version, yep would be rather nice, but you'd have to get it changed back to its original black!
Trouble is, if who ever buys it doesn't really know its value where rarity is concerned may break it for parts for the e28, and if that happens, it will a real shame!
Monetry value, its not worth a great deal as many view it as just an e23.

Looks like someone else from Gods country is interested.

I'd be willing to pay 1,500 as it stands and use it till it dies.  However the paintwork doesn't look right to me...it appears more blue than green in the photos.  I've asked the seller what the actual colour is but, as AG says, it's not BMW.  Why on earth did the owner do that??

If this was completely original I'd be happy to pay 2.5k and keep it safe for shows, but I don't want to buy another 'project' car at the moment.  I know it just needs a full respray but I can do without the hassle from Mrs Chas when I've got the other two cars in need of attention just now!

I don't carer for the paint work being diffrent as its minter than mint and for me thats good enough. and I like it too. Its just too nice to just run into the ground.

I didn't mean that I'd run it into the ground...  I meant I'd keep it going until it could go no further, which would be when parts were no longer available or the bodywork could no longer be patched up!  Even BMWs don't last forever but I'd never abuse something like this.

According to the sellers reply it was repainted BMW Lagoon Green, which happens to be one of my favourite colours .  It was also the colour of my first BM (an E36 coupe).  However, it doesn't look like Lagoon Green in the photos...  must have been a dodgy film in the camera!
