hi, need some advice on removal of my e30 m3 exhast manifold, i've been able to reach a few studs from underneath but i'm struggling to reach the rest,  do i need to remove the cooling rail thats bolted to the head, would this give me better access to the rest of the studs.

I found having it up on ramps and removing the plastic undertray helped to get to the bottom nuts. A decent socket set with a couple of sized extensions was also good. I found the biggest pain in the bum was getting the manifold out once all the nuts were removed. There's not a lot of room ......
I'm sure you've done it already , but have plenty of new nuts on hand and the gaskets.
