Here's my problem, I was unfortunate enough to have an accident about a year ago we someone very kindly pulled out in front of me

since then my poor E34 has very badly fitting "pattern parts" which wasnt helped by a damaged nearside inner front wing... since then i have aquired some body genuine second hand bodyparts however it is not going to look brilliant with out an inner wing replacement.... would you do on yours ? Thanks in advance

To be brutally honest mate, I'd get one of the "broken" ones from e-bay ( normally head gone ), that is in reasonable condition and swap all the good bits over from yours.

I have rebuilt mine, its lovely, but they just aren't worth any money.

Best Wishes

Nigel

i have just had a look on ebay.... didnt realise they were going so cheap, found it quite depressing that you can now get a resonable E34 for the price of a vauxhall nova  i wonder if as time reduces the numbers of E34's on the road the value may increase ??? its a nice thought !!

Mainly bodywork, it had lived in Devon, and judging by what I found under the wings, it had been driven more on the beach than the road !

The sand was so tightly packed in it felt like concrete, I vibrated it out with an air tool.

I cut the rear section of the sill and front bit of rear wheel arch on nearside from my wrecked one, and transplanted it onto the e-bay car.

I replaced the front wings with gfs ones, transplanted the spoiler and interior, a lot of flatting and a respray by my mate ( who does this for a living)

The result is below, but to be honest it wasnt worth doing really, I've just had a go at flogging it on e-bay ( its been done two years now), and the general concensous is its worth about £850.00, so I'll be keeping it for a while longer I think....never mind, at least the wipers go the right way, unlike the later model lol

Best Wishes

I don't mind you asking at all.

I've had the car for a little over two years now, and just fancied a change, I don't use it much.

I fancy having another bike, but may end up keeping the BM as well,I just have to work on wifey !!

Best Wishes

Nigel

i wish i had a mate who was good with bodywork, i just havent got the facilities to do paint at home and wouldnt want to make a mess of it myself... the only thing i have against getting rid of the car is that over my 4 years of ownership its always been looked after regular services etc and i spent money on having the head done last year  and money has been spent on various other bits and pieces...i dread to think how much,  just feel it would be a shame to let it go but as you say it doesnt make financial sense from a re-sale point of view....might be because its my 1st Bmw but as you say nigel atleast the wipers are on the right side  lol..

my compliments mate,a great looking car !

Thats why I love e34's,a 17 yr old car that doesnt look in the slightest dated but retains the classic twin headlights.

Mines 16 yrs old & Ive just been on a nice run & she is rock solid at 120(private roads of course) makes my 99 laguna (wifes car) look bloody silly.

I wish they would increase in value as number diminish but I think thats wishful thinking-but we can dream
