After hearing a noise from the back I my car i quickly confirmed my suspicions of a broken spring. As my car was already lowered (est 20-30mm) I decided I should buy a new set of springs from GSF. These springs are supposed to drop the car 30mm at the front & 20mm at the back. So stick the back ones on & the car drops on its ar*e! I mean the rear tyres are coverd by the arches!!! My car now looks like I'm carrying bricks in the boot. Drive it to GSF to confirm these are definatley right for my car due to the massive drop, Confirmed they are. So I give them the benefit of the doubt & but all new shocks as I thoght I might as well change the lot. Fit the new rears & its still dragging along the floor. Get the fronts fitted by a local BMW specialist & get a phonecall to say the car is now higher & is now bottoming out because the springs are too soft & that the shocks don't appear compatable. By this time I've got the bang ump. So back to GSF we go where somebodyelse informs us that we not only have the wrong front shocks but the springs are a budget 4 cyl set not the Boge sports ones we paid for. He gives us the correct shocks & springs to be replaced by the ones removed & offers to refund us the labour we paid out to have them fitted. Fine we think & book them in with the BMW place to have it re done on GSF. Go to pick my car up & its still as low at the back & the front is marginally higher. Its like a 50mm at the back & a 40mm at the front. Car is also still on occasions bottoming out over bumps. I'm fed up, my cars looks crap & we can't have people in the back because its scrubs like mad. GSF swear blind these are correct & according to their system should only drop a 328 20mm at the back & 30mm at the front. They've had my chassis number, build date, spoken to both me & the BMW place & can offer now explanation as to why my car is so low. Every part number has been checked & varified countless times & confirmed correct for my car. Wish now I'd bougt a complete kit as this wasn't cheap. Am thinking of putting standard springs back on as we can't use the car like this. Really damaged my opinion of GSF, wouldn't mind if this was a one off purchase but I spend over a grand a year in there at the very least. Anyone got any idea's?

Sorry for the rant!

Dean

I've got GSF and SACHS springs and dampers on my 320i, while it's low, it's not too low to be 5 up, but the front does bottom out, which is rubbish! Cost 3-400 I think, so not that cheap either. Some nasty speed bumps are a no no, but cornering and higher speed stability are vastly improved. Think everyone should just stick to eibach and bilstein - everyone seems to rave about 'em.
