differ, i use Abbey for my insurance, they have branches in most large towns. Don't get to depressed when you read what our friends across the water get insurance for, you'll only get depressed.

If by any chance you are a member of Amicus (it's a trade union) you'll get discount.

Thanks PhilS. will have a look. does anyone know if a 2.5tds engine will fit straight in? obviously i will need to change my ECU as well. Would the gearbox be ok to use with a 2.5 engine? or would it need changed again?

I'd already checked FAB and they didn't look to have one.  1800td is probalby your best bet, as changing from 318 to 325 will need new gearbox, clutch, diff, instrument cluster, front & rear brakes etc.. - significantly expensive!

Thanks Phils for your help but i already tried there and they dont have one. Cheers anyways. apparently a lad called eddie torrens scrapyard has one but hes looking 1000 for it and doesnt know the year milage or condition, and will only give a three month guarantee so its hardly worth the risk.
yea i think ill keep it at 1800 tds lol.

found one in france, but no price:
link

I'd offer 500 to the guy selling that engine without and details... push him hard and i reckon he'll sell. Worth a shot at that money.

This place http://www.bmspares.co.uk/new_breakers.htm has a 318tds being broken.  Worth a call.  Hope you get sorted.
