Well it drove home very well today, and I behaved myself in the pouring rain! Sounded better, and no hint of stalling, so Phils man did wonders, thank goodness for good honest places such as his, and a big thanks to Phil for allowing me to stand my car at his place.

you're not thick at all, I take it you are not into texting on your phone?

some text lingo has crept across into normal english.

IMO = in my opinion. IMHO = in my humble opinion

AFAIK - as far as I know

IIRC = if I remember correctly.

there are loads more, which baffle me so I ignore 'em.

Patrick
The problem was. When we put the B9 engine into the new shell, the ECU/connections etc were all different (even though both the cars were Motronic, they changed the layout between 84 and 85) therefore the car wouldn't run properly with all the Alpina items etc in place (signal going to the wrong part of the ECU etc due to the changes in layout) so Phils man rewired and re-pinned the ECU to accept the replacement engine, and now it idles as it should, drives properly, and pulls nice and strong.
Top man, hats off to those who know what they are doing.

I must admit, I did induce a small slide whilst coming out of the petrol station, it'd be rude not to!
