headlight cleaning problem

   On my E30 M3 the headlight washer jets operate every time the intensive and normal cleaning is done, even with the lights off.

I have tried disconnecting the two plug ins near the washer bottles, but that just stops the motors running for both windscreen and headlights.

Any ideas what the problem is, and how do I disconnect the headlight cleaning?

Any help much appreciated.
