Hi I am looking to buy an 8 series, is there anything I should look for? Any tips and advice would be appreciated.

Hi & Welcome,

I would try to find a 94-99 840Ci rather than a 850Ci or 850i, the V12s are somewhat troublesome, a pre purchase inspection is a must when buying an 8.

Check the OBC for faults and last service when checking one out too. Most common things that need attention are:

-front brake rotors, steering thrust bushings, seat motors & memory modules, vacuum hoses.

Good luck with your search.  If you find one, chances are that someone in one of the forums who lives near you might check it out for you if you're apprehensive; some very mechanical and technical minded people in here.
