Hi Everyone - New here, in fact to any BM forum, although I've had several over the years...

Had this car for two years and no probs at all - but recently the alarm has started going of for no apparent reason - Anyone any ideas.

Took it to service station and they thought the battery was knackered (although only two years old) replaced that and OK for a couple of months and now - its back!!

Any help appreciated.

Jim.

Ryhs - yes its a 728i  May 99.

AA checked for a drain coudnt find anything. Its happened a few times now, but it only seems to be on certain doors or sensors?

Outside this the cars been great for 2 years, but it wont be long till the neighbours dont like it! - And I cant get it into a BM dealer where I live for weeks!!

HELPPP

Is your car under BMW extended warranty? If so, they have a mobile technician that you may be able to negotiate to come and plug into your car's computer.

I had this problem during hot spells, I'd leave the windows open then when it's dark I'd close it all up and set the alarm. When the alarm kept going off during the night, it turned out to be the odd moth or flies! (they came in when opened the door and the int light came on, they stayed in there when locked it all up and the lights went out!)
May or may not be relevant!

Andy, really!

Mice ate your engine sensors.

Moths set your alarm off.

Whatever next, squirrels storing their nuts in your air intake?

you country boys!

No extended warranty guys, although I would pay if I could find someone mobile who could plug in (Stianes Windsor area)

No moths, no flies - and no squirells - but I'm going NUTS!!!

Jim.
