Who's up for going to Donington on the 23rd October?

I have not been before, but I understand that last year was run by TotalBMW, but not this year.  It is being run by Andrew Greenwood who did the Stonleigh show in the spring.

This won't be like Gaydon, ie we won't have a display, but there will many more trade stands etc than there was at Gaydon.

What's your thinking people?

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Ferris pass-out at 31 Flavours last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

I'm only 55 miles South of Donington today.  Can't make the 23rd October though I'm afraid.

Make sure you tell people it's:

"Donington"

and not

"Donnington"

Otherwise they'll be going to the wrong place!  I say that because I know someone who did just that!  Donnington with two 'n's is different from the circuit Donington.

It is backed as BMW Car Club event,so why not get a stand?

QUOTE]

It is run by a private company, but the club has a large space there which if I remember correctly is going to be used to help re-launch the Alpina section. Should be better than last year (or was it the year before) when it was run by Total BMW magazine and fell over because of lack of advertising.

Don't blame the club if it does not come up to your expectations, but do send in constructive criticism to me and I will make sure that that the organisers get a copy.

I'll be there, along with a large contingent from the E30Zone.

We're meeting up at the services down the road at 9am before the doors open at 10-10.30ish...

I'll be in my track car (now made road legal) for a bit of fun.

Giles.

I may be going to the Newcastle v Sundrland game.  I'll only be going as it will be free, in the directors box, with free food & beer, and as a neutral, I wouldn't mind going for the crack!!!

However, as this is not 100% confirmed yet, I will be going to Donny if this doesn't come off.

So, in an effort to put some organisation into this.....

How about selecting a service station on route somewhere, and all those from the NE meeting at an agreed time and traveling together?

All those in favour..  say "AYE" !!

There is a good service station on the A19 just south of A179 Hartlepool turn off. Has an American diner and decent size car park.

Hey Mick!!!

The 530 is back from the shop and looking good.

Drives like a dream with the Bilstiens on

See you at Borobridge for the Whitby run.
