Hi everyone, my pride and joy e34 525i won't start anymore and I think it's something to do with the immobiliser, as the red light on the dash flashes when turning the key and the starter motor doesn't kick in. Very strangely when I opened the bonnet I found a pump lying un-attached on top of the radiator. Could this be part of the immobiliser system? is it just a case of fixing the pump back or a bigger job? any help would be appreciated as this one has me stumped.

Cheers

check the battery(car), common cause for alarms/imobilisers causing grief, not switching "off" etc
