I'm Up for it. We just need to get some decent ideas  for the what and the when.............

Here's mine - How long does it take to 'do' the ring of Kerry? I've been told it's a spectacular drive. That would have to be an overnighter I'm guessing?

Does anyone have idea how many of the Irish Region Members also grace these fora with their presence? We could get a better feel for where people are and where they want to go?

I don't think that many of the regions members use the internet (or at least not this site!).

The economy run on the 27th is aimed at those in the Midlands and South.

May I suggest that we park this idea for next year. I would like to plan a weekend driving down there - like what we are doing in Galway this year.

Alcork1, are you a member of the club?

Can't make the Galway run as I'll be in France............... and I'm not sure the economy run is suited to my beast.

When the Pheonix park meet?

The park races are on August 16/17. Nothing is set up yet. Both Gerard & I are waiting on separate responses from the organising clubs about it.
We shall keep you all informed on progress.
Even if there is no formal event planned for the day, they are worth going to as I reckon (without knowing the events line up), especially given that it is the centenary, they should be even better. The Dunlop Supercars (formerly RT2000) are great to watch (with club member Robbie Bolger competing). I myself am hoping to be in one of the 4x4s following the pack on the first lap (as part of the motor racing marshals club)

...btw, the Economy run will be hanicapped - so bigger cars should be competitive!

In the UK, the economy runs are most often won by 330Ci, etc., as they cruise and climb well at mid speeds.

I thought the economy run was judged by what percentage improvement over standard MPG you achieved? So a 320i getting avg 40MPG (28.6 std) would beat a 320d achieving 50MPG??

Either way - if we have head the ball doing the run it'll be a tie - we should all be able to cruise along in neutral for most if it!!

Ken, there is often too many arguements about what the standard MPG should be - and it get complicated when there is lots of different models. The handicap methodolgy kind of takes this into account anyway (I believe).

Richie, get you next time!

There may be a challenger fighting for it though (x miles @ 6000rpm(?) in 1st) compared to the 520i/M5 in 5th @ 2500 rpm
