The  outer door rubbers on both doors on my 6 are all cracked, I have them off at the moment as I am doing some work on the doors at the moment. I a refering to the ones that are attatched to the chrome strip that runs along the waistline of the car at the top of the door.

I have looked on the realOEM website, and BMW only seem to list the rubber with the chrome strip as one part for about £100. Have any of you had this problem, and what did you do, or is there someone who can supply window rubbers for me?

The existing rubbers are all cracked, and not only do they look shabby, but they are also not water-tight, and seem to have shrunk quire a bit.

Any help is always appreciated!!!

The problem is that BMW only supply the chrome and rubber seals as one assembly. That's why the cost is so high.

I know I looked on the realOEM website.....gits; I just thought if anyone had any suggestions I would be interested, as I am guessing that they will be over £100 each...... or should I just leave them splitt
?

Ben, just replaced that part on my e23 735 at £7.66 + VAT! On the e23 it is available as just the rubber - pt no: 51.21.1.869.962 if you are interested. Made a big difference to wind-noise BTW.

I asked my friendly BM dealer to double check the e24 equivelent and you are correct, only available with the chrome at £100.

The E23 doors are shorter than the ones on the E24......

Just beware, that's all
