Well I sort of like the colour myself - unfortunately the previous owner attempted a respray and botched it - its more brown than burgundy near the front. It'll need a full respray, so I was considering every option - have the  original colour swacthes on their way to me at the moment.

Just mentioned a few minutes ago to the girlfriend though that I like the colour of it as it is - can see the car from where I am - so I suppose I'll decide what to do in a few months - the engine needs some attention, as does several other areas of the car - there are some rust patches that need treatment. I'm hoping to get an Mtec I kit for it, as despite it being an 88 car, its the chrome bumper version!!

Diamond Black is a nice colour, but the original looks good too.  Have you got any quotes for the re-spray job yet?

No quotes yet - am going to get the engine sorted out first. Its not too bad, but I want to car to be running properly.

Theres a place in Lucan who do a full colour change for €2000, they do alot of the show cars and their work is excellent. Will wait and see I suppose!

Ken,

Where in Lucan were you thinking of taking the car?

BTW, Diamond Black rocks........ the downside (as with any black or dark colour) being that you could polish it daily and it still looks dirty after you've driven it once!!!

Theres a crowd called Smith & Brannigan - have been well impressed with what I've seen of their work.

I love Diamond Black as a colour - although I know only too well how hard it is to keep a black car looking clean!! Not sure I could cope with cleaning two black cars every weekend!!
