Check this story out.  Dodgy or what...

On the 24th May I phoned an advertiser off of this web forum, a guy called "AMAN".  I sent him a cheque for an ECU which I explained was urgently required.  He agreed to send me it when the cheque cleared.  On the 4th June he said it was in the post.  On the 9th he told me it was in the post and on the tuesday I found out the cheque had been cashed.  On  wednesday the 11th I told him to send me my money back as I couldn't wait any longer and he told me he doesn't do refunds.  I had to buy the part elsewhere as my car was waiting in a garage for the part.  On the 15th he told me the item was delayed in his postoffice due to a daylight robbery, did I want him to get it back and he would send me a credit note.  I told him I wanted my money back and he is refusing to give it back to me.  (3 1/2 weeks on)

Please buyers, be aware of this advertiser....

Sorry to hear of your problem, have you contacted the Police?  Or threatened too?

Anyone can become a member of this forum, and I would say this is part of the reason why Killian is reluctant to have a classifieds forum...

Hi James

The whole thing has turned out to be a nightmare.  The only way I can resolve this is to actually sue him in the small claims court.  So that is what I'm going to do.  He will then at least have to attend a court hearing up here near Inverness.  I will get my money back and it will cost him that and the expense of getting up here.

When you send money to someone, there is an element of trust, just a pity there is some thieves around....  I just hope no one else falls for his con...

You are not alone in having problems with this individual.

I have suspended his account here. Please let me know by PM/eMail how this sad story develops. I hope you get your money back.

Let the big guys have their fun first and then get your money. I find that a good quality detergent removes blood from even heavily stained tenners

Hate to admit it but I too have been skinned by the same guy. I sent money for a small part and when nothing turned up I emailed him off forum, left voicemail and posted on bmwland asking him to contact me. He eventually (after two weeks) answered his phone and said he had been on holiday. I explained that the bit I ordered from him was no longer needed and asked him to send a seal I needed for my car. He said no problem and to email him my requirement. Nothing has been heard since and to be honest I have given up on him - so I endorse PHH-525isports comments and wish him luck.

Incidentally, I have ordered many parts, sold many parts over the years and this is the first rip off guy I have come across.

If any of you guys remember my accidend in December, wrote off my 525e, loads of you offered your support and kind thoughts and thanks again.  This guy kept contacting me and emailing being very attentive, wanted stuff for nothing and me to delivery.  (Insult to injury and all that)  One to definitely watch for, but report to the police and let them sort him out, no point in going down the Tony Martin route.

Iain H and PHH-525isport,

I suggest the both of you get together on this one, perhaps if there are any other members that have had the misfortune of dealing with this as**ole?

I think you'd be better off working together, maybe if more than one person complains to the Police of this guy, there may be a chance that they will take an interest?  After all, he may be doing this all over the country, and on a bigger scale!

Atleast now we are all aware of this person, and hopefully we have heard the last of him.

Having said that, he is obviosly thicker than the offspring of a TV weather girl and the village idiot, I mean, what kinda fool gives out his mobile number!  I mean, if that number got into the hands of say, someone who could clone numbers...

I hope that you both get your money back, or at least some satisfaction...

James

He is also suspended from this forum and his posts have been deleted (record kept of IP addresses, etc.) but as per the rules people should use the for sale pages but should also try and obtain a postal address & landline number for security reasons when buying online.
As you do not know the person selling and the forum is open to the whole world in reality you have to be careful.
Anyway, please report further items to me, Howard or Webdunk.
Killian

Sorry to hear about this Rip off merchant,

There is another trader who calls his outfit R.P.A auto's who done me out of £200 back in december. He's from the same neck of the woods as this Aman fella-NW london.

Maybe they are mates??

Just a thought......

Hope you get it sorted

Nick.

Hi Everybody

Thanks for all your comments and hopefully it was all the helpful messages that put some pressure on AMAN, he eventually delivered albeit about 4 weeks too late but the ECU has arrived and it works, so I'll have to try and sell it now.
