Hi Memebers, I have just joined this site and it looks great! I do not yet own a BMW but I going to buy a 6 series . I love these cars and have done for a long time. I am looking for information on things I should look out for when buying one. I know service lights can be a can of worms but thats it! Is there anything in particular I should check for? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks Chris. |

Although I originally wrote it in answer to a question about the M635CSi (Highline edition 1987-90), much of what I wrote is equally applicable to standard Sixes. The body shell (and here I am talking about cars made after May 1982) is the same, so the rust issues will be identical |

Be a bit wary of the pre-1982 series 1 6 series cars - I love mine, but its getting very difficult to source parts... Every time I ask for something - regardless of what or where from, I get "sorry mate, got that for an 82 on, but it wont fit yours..." Good luck, and post pictures when you have it! |

And so says Jimbob.
1981 635csi 81k miles. Will be fixed, but not by me. |
