I was quoted £340 odd by directline.

This was for a regular policy, my FNCB is used elsewhere, 12K per year inc.
Class 1 Business mileage, no alarm/immobilser, car parked on driveway.

I thought it was pretty good but I topped it up with a few extra like Protected
NCB, etc. which pushed the price up.
What fuel crisis?

I'd also advise having a good read of some recent 'insurance' threads!

IMHO avoid Carole Nash like you'd avoid bird-flu..........!

I'm insured with Roadway, formally known as Jardine Faber over in Northampton, £220 f/c for 3000 miles.

Next year I'll have more choice oweing to my having had fitted a 'proper' alarm, when I say that I mean a Thatcham cat 1 approved combined alarm/immob.

My 635's.

Robert, I am not surprised with the info 'Confused' gave you, it was a similar situation for me - I contacted the lowest direct and was given a lower quote by over £100.

I eventually used a broker direct from the club magazine who were able to better the Confused by over £250. I think 'Confused' are good for giving a figure, but would always advise to speak with the insurers direct (not mentioning the internet quote unless is in your favour)

I've just bought a 635 , prior to looking I got several insurance quotes. On 20/9 the best from confused.com was £443, yesterday when looking again on confused.com with exactly the same requirments the best offer was £544 and the worst was a staggering £2114! I then went to a company called Heritage, less than 5 minutes later I was ending the phone call having spent just £228.The policy was much better than the ones on confused. I found Heritage from the Classic Motor Show Guide. I only went to the show to see the BMW stand. What a good job I went. Sadly the BMW stand was quite small but congratulations to those who displayed , you did the marque proud. Heritage are on 0845 811 8118 try them. I have no connection with them
