some-one else spotted that -

Hello, Could you tell me if you know when and where the car was converted to right hand drive. Also, I don't know if it's a common problem, but the synchromesh on 4th gear failed on the ix I owned, are there any problems in that area with this car. Thanks, James 28-Nov-05

A:

Hi it was main dealer converted from new, no problems at all with the car. Thanks leighton

Private listings protect the bidders, not the seller...Private ID protects the seller from having his feedback viewed...

Nothing suspicious about a private listing, really, but it is unusual on a single item...More often it is used on auctions with many items for sale...

Private bidding is actually a good thing when used for the right reasons.

Number one reason is so that these scammers can't contact the second highest bidders in an auction claiming they have the same item for sale, which happens a lot on e-bay!!

Simon..don't even think about an ix!

Saw this on ebay earlier and must say I wasn't that impressed as I can't imagine why I'd need 4 wheel drive in a car that handles as well as my e30. Also it looks totally weird as it seems to ride to high although I understand that this is normal on one of these things.

Was the ix prone to a few problems?

Bulldog

ix was about 15 mm higher than a standard E30 due to drivetrain etc.

BMW back in the 80's wasn't a 4x4 manufacturer, but the tractor parts were quite reliable, but it's the parts availability that was the problem.
