Just had this flash up on the way to work. Parked the car up against another one & all three brake lights appear to work. I've had a read of topics on here & I hope its not corroded terminals because I only fitted new M3 cluster last September.Any ideas?

What type of cluster is it? The system checks the resistance of the circuit and is relatively sensitive.
Anyhow, if this is the first time then I would wait and see if more alerts appear.

Hi all mine does the same dont know why as it usually does it after giving it some welly but if I turn the ignition off and start it again the problem goes away I have come to live with it now as I know its not the rear lights as they are new and everything works

Checked all my lights when I got back to the car park& all are working fine. OBC message flashed up then went back to check control ok after turning the ignition off & restarting the car. Then it came on again half way through journey home. All bulbs are fine & all terminals seem fine. Clusters are hella M3 ones (Clear red red)

This'll almost certainly* be the brake pedal switch. About �15 from the stealers, and easy to change.

 

 

 

*Tho mine was complicated by a bulb making very brief intermittant failures. Filament was ok, but swapping it with the reversing light bulb sorted things out

Does this mean I can mention modding now?!
