beerchug hoping to get the bleedin car after christmas when the tax comes back should be into some rwd madness by then !

A mate of mine (25) got a quote of €1400 on a 1991 520i worth €2000 on the quinn direct site about five months ago.... a few minutes later he then got a quote on the exact same car (same reg, address, personal details, etc.) for €1000 once he changed the year of the car to 1994 and it's value to €5000!!! Madness!

Funnier still, he got a quote of somewhere around €1000 for a 1995 530i!!!

Mess around with their site - you'll probably get a better quote!

Good luck!

sounds like a bit of a challenge! taking money back off the insurance companies i tried it a few minutes ago to get the quote ref and it was up fifty quid - unless someone wrote off an e30 in the last five mins something is seriously strange.

Nah, you probably spelled your address differently!!! I'd swear some of the numbers on that site and insure.ie are just plucked out of thin air!

Once you get a quote, call all of the other insurance companies... you should be able to knock a bit off that price!

Im surprised that quinn direct will insure anything with an "i" at the end of it.In my experience they are difficult to deal with also.Try ringing them.As the lads have said, shop around for the lowest quote.

Put yer oul one (or some older female relation ;) on as a named driver and it will DEFINITELY reduce your insurance.

On hibernian, if i wanted insurance on a 325 it would be 1400 for myself only or 1000 if I put my wife down as a named driver!!!

I've got on grand with Quinn Direct; ya need to be prepared to fight your corner (as with any insurer) but the quotes I've got have been reasonable enough from them. That said, there are horror stories everywhere!

Just put through for a quote off Best Quote - was very reasonable alright. Recived an email two minutes later saying the excess was €4000 though.

Don't bother trying the "Quote me happy" people - Mr. Clarkson (of Top Gear) wasn't too happy with them when he called for a quote on the Veyron!!!
