Boot lid keeps opening on the move!

This particular problem is bugging the wotsits out of me!

When the car is parked up there is no way I can make the boot-lid release, unless I depress the lock button - as it should be.

Take it for a drive, usual UK crappy roads, few lumps & bumps here & there & then I can usually just discern the edge of the spoiler waving at me........

It never rises more than a few inches, but I am fearful of the lid bouncing up at speed & potentially damaging the 'arms' or worse, the lid itself.

I have since made a couple of small adjustments to the striker, but the problem has not gone away!

Anyone got any thoughts on this one?

I can see a spring set up in the rear panel top-edge mounted lock.

I have checked all the fixings of the trunk/boot, all tight as they should be.

Remember, my bootlid had to be taken off for work on it during the refurb & it never suffered from this problem before.
The panel gaps around it seem to be spot-on, it latches & locks as before.

According to realOEM, HERE there is not much to it.

The central locking works exactly as it should.

Something has to be flexing to cause an otherwise secure bootlid to open whilst on the move?!

I'm stumped at the moment!

Can the boot on a 6 series be opened electrically ?, for instance by a button inside the car ?

Nigel, thanks also, no the opening of the boot is via mechanical push button lock below the boot. The central locking does as it says, but doesn't physically open it.

I'm going to try lubricating the lock mechanism including the push button lock, also making further adjustements to the striker, after first trying another striker to see whether it soft 'clicks' when pushed down.
If ok, then it should just be a matter of making small adjustments until its sorted - in theory.....
