Does any body know the production numbers on these? I have one on a B reg. and It is very hard to get info on them. All I seem to find is info on 320 and 325, even Parkers doesnt list it! Thats my new fully restored E-21 323i w reg. in the background!

Hi. Not sure of the exact figures but I would think VERY low numbers of the 323 Baur were produced. The normal 2 and 4 doors are rare (although a couple have come up as breakers on eBay lately). That e21 looks lovely. Any more pics of it? One of my favorites I must admit. Did it need much work? I looked at e21 323's before I took the easy (impatient!) route and bought my e30 325 Convertible.. Regards Trevor |

NIce one! A real 3 enthusiast! good photo's and 2 of a series that set the benchmark in medium sized motors bit like me..................the other one, er ...three The above shot was taken out in the west of Ireland about5 or 6 years ago, During that trip we were coming down a steep mountainside when a sheep rammed the car, bent the bumper up and ran off. On returning to the wife's familys farm her auntie asked me if we'd got a 'description of the sheep' as we could have found out who owned it and we would have got the price of a new bumper off them.Sadly my sheep describing abilities at that time amounted to that "FFFFFing woolly B******". It's affectionately known out there as "the Antique" Edited by BULLDOG |

Hi Guys, There's a German site for Baurs here http://www.bmw-baur-tc-club.de/ It's possible to view the home page in English, but the rest, including the forum, is in German. You might get your answers there. Cheers, Mick |

Cheers for the pics and replies! To reply to Trevor, the body on the e21 was completely origional and solid and I meen NO RUST!! couldnt beleive it!! it was black and a pic of a 3.0 csi in that colour sparked an £1800 respray and a nice job 2! The interior is an e21 black leather and also in nice shape. the wheels are origional alpinas that have been redone (turbo fin type). Ill try to get some more pics on but with the holiday my cammera is busy! to Paul, Truely sad story!! I know how you feel. My last e21 was henna red and in mint condition except for the running gear so I spent £4,500 personnaly rebuilding the drive train. I even went so far as to get bmw to order an origional crank and bearings from munich, new valves, springs , seats , pistons the lot. it ran so well and so fast i took out a 911 in belgium with it!! he was not happy Any way, all I had left to do was respray and that was that when a one eyed motorest lets say...drove into her nose and pushed the bumper over 2 inches. not bad until the fire dept came and in the process of putting out the battery used the jaws of death to open the bonet and took out the entire front end!! I still wake up crying!! |
