    Posted: 29-December-2005 at 11:12
Have just upgraded the Nav computer to a Mk4, and am amazed by the
route calculation speed increase, far superior graphics and integrated
TMC so all traffic jams etc are shown on the route.

Thing is, the Mk4 is meant for the 16:9 widescreen display, which was
only fitted in the final year of E38 build (AFAIK) so graphics looks a little
squished. Would really like a RHD E38 screen, but can only find E39, E46
or LHD monitors on eBay, and the LHD ones won't fit.

Anyone out there help?

(Not sure if this is the correct area to post a wanted ad, so Mods please
feel free to move!)

you could try some of the BMW breakers such as FAB etc, normally a few are listed in the club mag.

Tried FAB and all the breakers listed in BMW Car mag, but to no avail

Guess it's a case of checking back with them every month or so, unless one
pops up here.

Hi,

The LHD widescreens can be made to fit, however the fit is tight!!. Your other option is purchase a cheap one of e-bay and replace the tape part of it with a new RHS one (approx £400).

I want to buy an e38 RHD 4:3 screen? Let me know when/if you want to sell the 4:3.

The other thing to bear in mind is the "info" button on the 16:9 may not work properly depending on your radio.

You do realise, of course, that recent reports on MSN note that the actors Mr T and Burt Reynolds have recently contracted to do voices for sat. nav. Apparently Mr T. gets on there and keeps telling the driver to "relax". Thus: are you really sure you want to go there? that's the pressing question.
