Hello Every one, I have a '97 750il, with all the extras TV etc, It has a Phone fitted in the front and in the rear armrests. I believe it to be the Motorolla GSM unit. All was great with it until on morning. It failed to come on. No illumination or text or beeps. ie no power. Checked all fuses, then took it to a BM dealer who spent 3 hours looking at it. They said they couldnt find a prob with it so still no phone. Can anyone offer me some advice or a wiring diagram as i am desparate to have it working again, Many thanx in advance Fraser |

quote BM dealer who spent 3 hours looking at it-Can anyone offer me some advice or a wiring diagram - I believe it to be the Motorolla unquote So you believe it is Motorola? Yes or no? Which model exactly? Why did you not ask the dealer for a wiring diagram when he checked it, and why did you not ask for the correct model you have installed. How can we give you a wiring diagram when you are not sure what is installed? Sorry, but that I do not understand.

Steady now Shogun, your knowledge is accepted but Fraser is only new to this forum and probably didn't expect, or want, to be jumped all over, by someone who knows a bit more. Fraser, Shogun is however correct in that more detailed information would allow forum members to give more help. If you can provide more specific info members will be able to respond more productively. |

Sorry, sounded to harsh. That was not my intention. Just a hint for the future what to check/ask when having a problem. We are all friends But indeed, w/o such info it is difficult to help. |

OK Guys, I'll try harder in future, Thanks Big lad 4 the back up I'll do my best with the info that i have. The reasons I didnt ask for the info from BMW is simple, they wouldnt want to help, and if they did try, I dont feel they have an ounce of inclination about the system. I asked him what my next step was to be and his reply was a shrug of the shoulders. anyway..... I'm guessing its a Motorolla because it looks like one. (handset and computer). all it has writen on it is BMW. I have included some pics of the comp and the handset to see if u can identify it. It also has a hanset in the center armrest in the rear seat as well as in between the front seats. The Car is a 1997, P registered 750il and is completly stock, all the comunication equipment is as it left the factory. it has the TV screen that the phone also works through. The Chassis number is: DH62147 The phone comp No is SUF1693E If you need any more info let me know what u need and i'll try to get it. Right now for those pics Thanks for any help you can be, and let me apologise for not having a clue what i'm doing with forums Edited by V12 750 |

Umm, Shogun or M3AG or others maybe your best bet for the wiring diagram, maybe even the club can help. are you a member yet? My knowledge pretty much dies at the 5er (even that's a bit rusty) unless we are talking engines etc. sorry! Will keep my eyes peeled on the net and ears open. Hope you get fixed shortly!! |

See on my website, there are some online wiring diagrams, but US versions and not complete. Maybe it helps. A lot of info is also on the link on my website to E38.org., here is direct link http://www.e38.org/ Also search on this board, specialized on E38 http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/e38/
