OK I reckon the moderator system is AOK now - what was happening was that I configured it to be on the ladder system (along with newbie, senior member, etc.) and never took it off so when you posted it returned you to the level you would have benn on depending on the amount of posts!

I have added a few new modifications to the forum. These include:-
the separation of important topics from normal ones
numeric links instead of a drop down list to go from page 1 of a post to page 2, etc.
modified the edit profile page so it shouldn't take so long to download

Well Duncan - looks like you got your wish - the modifications I did earlier included resetting teh avatars back to 64 x 64. I'll still keep an eye on the poll though

I have added another few modifications to the forum. These include:
*a fix for the forum_topics.asp file which listed all the threads within a particular board. This was showing the first unread message as read (thanks Eamo)
* the profile page now shows each members message statistics

I have also completed a 'compact & repair' of the database which I hope will allow me to have the email notification turned on (it is at time of writing).
Furthermore I have deleted any members (154) who have been registered with the forum for more than 4 months but who have never posted.
