It certainly looks and feels good. However the only gripe I would have is that the ALL FORUMS link has been removed. I know the BMW CAR CLUB (GB) link provides the same function, but I think it would be simpler if this was changed back to the way it was or was more explanatory.

why not - it may have been because it initially thinks you are a guest until you post a message and in a sense give the database a smack in the head. i reckon you should be able to vote now

solved it! The forum came with a few userlevels but I created the Senior Member II but in my haste forgot to assign its priveliges 9such as using polls)!

Anyhow, Senior Member II's can now both create a poll and vote in it!

I like the more compact All forums and it seems to load pages faster.

Are there any upgrade notes which would let us know of any fancy new features?

Good stuff

Eamo - voting is sorted now!
Kevin - have a look at the 'Updated Forum' thread here (http://www.bmwcarclubgb.co.uk/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2580&PN=1&TPN=1)

Killian

Thanks, I found the "updated Forum" thread immediately after I had posted my note. This was a worthwhile upgrade. Thanks for your hard work.

Minor comment, are the avatars(sp) bigger now because they seem almost blurred, but then again it could be my eyesight

no the last board has them @ 32 x 32 pixels but this software has them @ 64x64 (don't know why). I will get a decent list of avatars but until then we shall have to live with the pixellated ones

This was a bit of a surprise when I logged on.
Doesn't look too bad does it.
Seams to run a bit slow (but maybe its due to me downloading a huge file at the same time).
Keep up the good work K.

Maybe I'm imagining it, but has the font sized changed? It seems to take up more space. I prefer the small seized user icons too. Otherwise it seems a good improvement!

Yeah the font size was 1 point higher so I reduced it to the same size as the old forum.
I have also reduced the size of the avatars (user icons) which were 64 x 64 to 40 x 40. The old size of 32 x 32 looks weird now.

The avatars look much better but have they lost their animation? I'm sure that the roundel was spinning yesterday but can't remember if they did on the old board.

I like this one, good improvement, definately much faster which is very welcome. It's now all the little fiddly things that crop up on upgrades.

Just to be contrary :-p I rather liked the 64x64 size - meant we could get avatars that were pretty much recognisable as our cars

kevin - do you mean the roundel on my avatar? its a different one now!

As for Webdunk's & Brendans thoughts - should the avatars be large 9like yesterday) or small (like now)? the first two replies to second either choice wins the prize
