Are new Shadowline Rear light units available, as I ordered 2 in November and recieved chromies. It has taken since then till this afternoon for the dealership to now say they only have the one part no and BMW Customer Services saying they will have to get in touch with the dealership to find out what is available.

As far as i know, there should be a different part no: for de-chromed fittings. I think the parts person made a mistake.

Hi Robert
Have  sent you a pm, but for all us 6 nuts, they only now make the rear light units for non dechromed cars . Its quite easy to have the chromed section powder coated satin black . Ive done this for my three highlines and its perfect.
Be very careful when refitting the light lens units as the edges of the plastic are very sharp and can damage the new paint .

Also a great tip is whilst the lights are out check for rust around the edges of the body work, especially the lower seam joint between the rear quarter panel and the rear panel. The joint can be clearly seen from the inside. Use plenty of waxoil aroung the whole section. Another palce to look whilst your in the area is inside around the number plate lights.
Regards
Ross
