In that case, get an Italian one - that entitles you to drive small 1.2 hatchbacks at any speed of your choosing, and on the side of the road of your choosing. Plus, you get to mix it with supercars, and the police encourage you to go faster! Very few cars in Turin are without accident damage. The Italians are remarkably good at 'touch' parking as well - they say it's why bumpers were invented.

So you are saying that despite the fact that my license, that was sent to me after 1997, says I can drive a vehicle up to 7.5 tonnes, actually I can't?

You can Peter...for your own use. Livvy will be able to give you the exact details, but I know for sure you can't even drive it for your own use outside of the UK. So don't go moving yourself to France lol |

It would be nice to see Peter say that to a large Frenchman! If you had lost half your uncles in WW1, and seen a quarter of your country laid waste, you would have a different view of the French.
All that most Brits saw of WW1 was a nice monument telling them that it was a fitting and proper thing to die for one's country . . . the French became rather more realistic. There are several other political reasons for the lack of direction from the top in 1940, but I won't bore you with them - suffice to say that the upper Echelon saw a Nazi takeover as being a lesser evil that a Communist rising from within. Ask yourself a question - if Operation Sealion had been successful, would YOU have sacrificed yourself and maybe your family to resist the occupation? Plenty of French people did, and our area of the Dordogne is filled with their monuments. Think twice before you slander the French - their country is a good lesson to the Brits in how things should be done. |
