Hi!  New member here - proud owner for 2 years of a 1990 316i.  Had new camshaft in 2002 and last year had idle speed valve and airflow meter replaced, and a hook up to the computer at Nottingham Carburettor Centre in Nottingham.  The car has never run right since (they had it originally for 5 weeks!) - took it back as it was coughing - they must have just switched up the petrol mix as the other day it wouldn't start, so I called the good old RAC.  The RAC man said that as the plugs (that were new 5 months ago) were wet and black from petrol, it must be running too rich. The same garage also told me that these cars are prone to needing their wiring loom modified, which is what causes them to run rough when they are first started up - does anyone else know about this?

Please can anyone recommend a reliable and knowledgeable garage in Nottingham, or thereabouts - does anyone have any reports on Peacock and Purvy in Chilwell?

Plus, my Beamer Baby needs some bodywork touching up - please can anyone advise on a local bodywork specialist?

I don't mind getting my cheque book out, but not when it's for a disappointing job!
