this car was on the autotrader site I'm sure, did it sell for it's advertised £6k price tag?
Looks good though, nice and clean. Has he a price in mind?

It does look like a sweet thing - probably well worth
6k although I'd be taking that rear apron thing off.
There's another one doing the rounds on Fleabay at
the mo - 340'000 miles(!) but one owner. The B2.8's
are hard to value - they look nice but don't go any
better than a standard 528i and rather less well than
a 535i. They were only ever a cosmetic upgrade on a
528i anyway and not what you'd call a proper Alpina.
I reckon the Ebay car is worth about £1200 tops - the
owner clearly has different ideas!

Thats the one I wanted last year but couldn't raise the £4.5k he was asking at the time.

The owner then was in West Yorkshire, either he has sold it or moved to Scotland.

This care is RARE.. there weren't that many 'poverty' spec ones done. This model is basically still a regular 528se with a few Alpina tweaks.. but it is still a genuine Alpina even though the log book may say otherwise.

You will not find a nicer one.

I have the DVD somewhere with loads of close up shots if anyone is interested.

I knew back then I should have bought it.

That e28 B2.8 on ebay is superb car, you wouldn't think it had covered that mileage, not far from me, and being a one owner car, I think it'll do £1800 easy, did last time but a waster won it, never collected.

It should do £1800, it looks great. The trouble is the
mileage - with that in mind it's a car to buy and enjoy
for yourself as opposed to some kind of investment.
When the engine goes 'pop' (can't be long now!)
you'd drop in a nice 3.5 from an E34 or something.
This should be a really cheap car to run with 528i
running gear, the parts are for nothing.

Where Andy Douglas, the Sainted Leader of t'Alpina
register? "notable by absence!" Did he sell the B11
in the end? The ebay loser and the B2.8 sounds
familiar - I bet I know who it is as well.

Well the loser was the same guy that said he'd buy mine but never showed!
Andy doesn't show here much, he tends to post on the fastsaloon web site. The B11, well it sold but wether it made what he wanted I don't know.

You got any more irons in the fire where B9's etc are concerned? Or is the project 5 still going strong?

Andy, was the guy who didn't buy these two cars from
up North? I was at a BMWCC do at Harewood House
and was approached by some guy who expressed
an interest in my red B9. He had a silver M535i Auto
(and another manual 535i) and said he'd been to
look at others on Ebay and not bought them.
I gave him photos but of course, never called me.
Some people just live in dreamland.

I trust you left negative feedback?

Spoke to Donnie on email a week or so ago.. don't think he's actually selling unless the right offer comes through - he's apparently just testing the water...
