replacing front indicator bulbs

   I have a E46 with xenons, and I am trying to replace the front indicator bulbs with silvervision bulbs.  But they are really hard to replace, in a awkard position and hard to twist to remove the holder.
Anyone have any advice on how to easily change/remove them.
