i know i should have checked the event diairy before but i did not, and for that i hold my hands up and say sorry

i am a bmwcc member and have been for the last 2 years

i have attended lots of shows and a few of the south west ones and found to be very good events

i started to do my own meets as there was none around at the time on this forum and it was really hard to get people to come along

i joined other forums which have had lots of meets over the years, so i attended one and met some great people, i took some ideas of what goes on at  meets, so i could use them for mine

over the 2 years i joined more forums and now got the meet details on 7 different ones

i think people should have a choice and not feel they have to go to one or the other because it on this forum

they could have said yes they would come on  other forums, would that have made a difference ?

As Ron suggested above, those who are enthusiastic forum members tend to act without consideration for the BMW Car Club, which this Forum is supposed to assist. While I do not decry those who are enthusiastic enough to organise an event, why cannot you do so within the framework of the BMWCC SW Region?

I know from personal experience that it is difficult enough to get members to attend any event, without splinter groups organising what can only be described as 'Pirate' events in opposition.

Perhaps those who do so should examine the official events list first, and also declare if they are BMWCC members. Also - of those members who support these events also support official events, and if not, please tell us why. I'm sure that the SW Comittee would like to know what they are doing wrong.

Remember also that any claims arising from such an unofficial event - other than normal third party motoring claims - will not be met by the BMWCC insurance.

The basic problem, I think, is that forums such as this tend to take on a seperate identity from that of the club which they were founded to support. Does anyone have any ideas to improve the situation? As matters stand, it appears that the forum has developed into a club within (and without) the Club.

What does anyone think of having a dent removal guy and a wheel repair guy along to the meet to do some work (at a discount of course!!)

just to say total bmw magazine are coming along with they  project cars and camara, should have a little feature in the mag

combining the two meets will be a good idea

how about we all meet up at the gorge for pics

then on to the pub

that if the car park is big enough

That would be good, or maybe those who don't want to go on the "cruise" (as it may not be to all tastes?) could meet up with the cruisers at the pub for a meal and a bigger meet?

Whats the pub and where is it?

I am split between the two, and I am no good at map reading, I got me a TomTom Go for that!  I was upset for missing the last Gorge meet

Both sound good though. If both hook up at the pub, it could prove beneficial for better, bigger meetings for the future? Just a suggestion

This sounds as though the BMW Car Club and The BMW Car Cub Forum are seperate. At the top of the forum is a link to EVENTS. Nigels Cruise has been in this list since January and in the club magazine.
